World Games Success!!!

London, Hong Kong, Kaoshiung... Its the World Games 2009!!!

The World Games is a platform for non Olympic sports to demonstrate that they have Olympic potential. For skydiving it means we have a very real chance of getting into the 2012 London Olympic games. Yes V exciting!!!

So the top six nations from the previous years World Championships get an invite, Babylon, The Skywalkers, Team Volare, Team USA, Team Sweden and Team Russia were representing and of course trying to better their result from Maubuege. So for Skywalkers it was their last competition, also Babylon are unsure if they will continue, so for both teams they brought very similar routines from last year as this would be the most efficient use of the training they were able to complete. The Volare boys were in a different situation, with new team member Alberto at his first sky competition it was the beggining for the boys and new Volare. This meant constructing a new free routine and it was also the teams first time doing compulsories with the new configuration.

After a nail biting close battle between Skywalkers and Babylon, the Frenchies finally grabbed the lead in the second last round from Norway who had been leading from the start. Volare came in a strong third which for the boys is a great result. A great learning experience and some valuable competition experience for the Team.

It was also a great chance to get around and check out all the other sports that were competing, congratulations to all the other British team at the World Games.

Next? Kaoshiung, Hong Kong, London, Detroit and onto Chicago for the World Record!!!!!
