The 2010 World Championships and British Nationals
Mon 23rd Aug, 10
The last weeks have been crazy!!! First the boys headed out to deepest darkest Russia for the World Championships. This year there was a wealth of Super hot talent, the US bringing two of its top teams, plus the usual suspects from Norway, France, Switzerland, Germany etc.
After the first few rounds it was USA 1, SoCal Converge who took the early lead with an amazing 24 points in the Speed compuslory round smashing the existing record of 18. The volare boys then went on to equal with thier own 24 point score in round 5 and along with some impressive free rounds secured a strong second place just behind SoCal who went on to take Gold. Congrats to the SoCal boys who had a cracking meet and showed some awesome Freefly. To see the free routine and speed round from Volare click on the picture or the link below.
From there the boys had to Dip, Duck, Dodge, Weave and Dodge to get their way out of Russia. One 10 hour delay and 2 missed flights later it was off to the Voss freefly Festival to catch the last days of an amazing boogie! (Thanks Hovard for organising so much awesomeness!!!!!)
Then it was time for the British Nationals. It was great to see so many teams show up and compete. Congrats to all the B teams who put together some Super nice head up routines. In the A class Team kinetic took the Bronze showing they are a future force to be reckoned with. Army Eurphoria took Silver with a very smooth and technical routine, a real treat to see those boys come on so much. On the top step it was Volare, again coming so close to a speed compuslory record with a 23 in round 5.
