British Nationals Gold!!

First was the VRW.  Frazier Smith once again joined the boys to make up the 4 performers with Chris Lynch again filming for the 2nd consecutive year.  With only one other team entering it was going to be a battle for gold.  The Bad lieutenants came out guns blazing, these boys were ready for battle and looking ship shape.

Round 1 saw Volare take a 1 point lead over the BLs.  Round 2 and 3 saw the BLs take back the lead again by one point.  It was getting exciting and the closest battle out of the whole 4 way Nationals. round 4 saw Volare take back a 1 point lead.  Round 5 was a fast round and both teams scored a massive 19 points! so going into the last round Volare were leading by 1 point.  Round 6 was the ugliest round both in the points themselves, with a 4 way sitfly line as the exit point and lots of messy head up points, also as the pressure was on as either team could take the gold from this jump.  After a nailbiting wait the BLs were scored first and posted an impressive 8 points.  It looked like they had the win, then came a hair pulling live score of Volare who also in the last seconds manged to post an 8 pointer.  Volare had taken gold over the Bad Lieutenents by 1 point!!

Congratulations to Dan, Jim, James, Martin and Matt of the Bad Lieutenents who put up a very impressive competition, it was for sure the most exciting of the Whole British Nationals.  The best of luck to those guys in the World Cup where they will be taking on both Arizona Arsenal and the French 4 Speed teams.

Next for Volare was the Freefly.  With 5 teams in the A class it was the best turn out for some years, hopefully signaling a resurgence in the dicipline.  Volare lead from the beginning and eneded with almost a 20 point lead over second place Army Euphoria who were in a close battle with The Italian Job the whole way.  Congratulations to The Euphoria boys on their second place and The Italian job for their bronze.
